I've been thinking about how I was going to add a blog to my site when I came to the realization that I can utilize a tool I'm already running on my server!
I've been using Memos (an open-source self-hosted notes application) for note taking purposes and it dawned on me that I can make notes public for blogging and then use an iFrame to get it here to the blog page. I was really dreading having to blog in HTML so um...fuck yeah - that's exactly what I'm doing. Memos uses markdown, which I personally find more format friendly and won't have to manually update this page when I bang out a new post (or two).
What can you expect from my posts? Hard telling, honestly. I'm a person who can sit down and write out a 1000 word post in very little time, I absolute adore writing. I'd wager you can expect to see:
- Thoughts on Current Events
- Personal Takes on Special Interests
- Posts about Birdwatching
- Cool New Things I've Learned
- Perhaps some Book Reviews
If long form content is not your cup of tea, I use Mastodon for more "social media" type things. If you like birds, I have a BirdPi server that you can pop in and listen to my bird audios!
